The Work Of The Lord

1 Corinthians 15:58 “…Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching lately, which that sounds somewhat worldly to say, but it’s true. I just got married! Which is insanely exciting and such a big life accomplishment. She is the love of my life and I am so happy that God brought us together. A lot of my outlook on life in the last 10 months has been focused on getting married and all of the craziness that ensues once you get engaged. So now that we have moved past that, what do we do now?

I’ve thought a lot about that on the plane coming back from our honeymoon. I can finally start thinking about things in our future other than our wedding. What does God want to do with us? Kassi and I have already decided that this September we are going to do something big, something crazy, and something that we can only do while we haven’t quite settled down. We’ve been tossing around the idea of moving to Australia for 6 months, to then take our adventures to South East Asia to go travel for a couple of months, and if we still feel like traveling we might just head to Europe! Although I think I’m going to be home sick by that point. I have a huge appreciation for stability after I traveled to 22 countries between 2013 and 2014.

But is that what God wants us to do? I really think that God has used my time at Lincoln Electric well. I’ve learned so much, but I think He wants me to do something else; something to glorify His kingdom. I want to write a book, I want to invest in my personal brand and glorify Him in my videos and my writing. But I can’t seem to do both Lincoln and my personal brand at the same time. So I am having a lot of peace about leaving Lincoln this fall.

This verse helps give me that peace. Whatever I do I need to focus on giving it fully to the work of the Lord. That’s a great promise; one that I need to stand on as I start walking into a different direction.

Reveal what you have for me and Kassi. Start to show us which steps to take. “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” Proverbs 16: 9

You’ve reveled this verse to me Proverbs 8:10 “Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”

I need to make money and provide for my family, which I’m confident I will do. But I also want to give Kassi the life that we’ve always wanted: prosperity, a successful career, big happy family, huge house, big yard with big dogs – the whole nine yards. This verse helps give me peace about pursuing God’s heart rather than a successful career.

You’ve also revealed this verse to me, Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” I immediately thought of the books that I will write, the videos I will make, and the overall success of the brand that I will create. Whether it’s hosting men’s conferences, worship concerts in Reno, revival conferences in Reno, or whatever it be; commit it to the Lord and it will succeed.

Talk about an immediate answer to prayer! Thank You Lord!
