Let The Lord Direct Your Steps

Proverbs 16:9 is probably one of my favorite verses of all time, for now. Because it is such a solid verse to stand on when I’m making some of life’s biggest choices. One of them being today – our departure day. The verse says:

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.”

We leave for Australia today, and we’ve been planning and making steps towards this direction for about 6 months now – maybe even longer than that! This morning, before God, Kassi and I committed our plans to the Lord. He brought this verse to me today while I was replying back to a YouTube comment. It is Proverbs 16:3, and it says:

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”

We want to do the will of God for our lives, and nothing else (Matthew 7:21). That’s why we must commit our plans to the Lord and he will grant us success, because doing the will of God for your life will give you more joy and fulfillment than you could ever ask for. We also must be ready for any changes in our course. It says in verse 9 that God will determine our steps.

We need to have willing hearts as God changes the course of our direction. Because if we aren’t, we will be thrown off balance. This morning I am ready; which it might be the coffee talking, but I am ready for anything that God throws my way. He has instilled in me a readiness to take on whatever he throws my way.

God,

Let our trip to Australia be a trip centered around growth. Let me and Kassi grow our marriage, let us grow our relationship with you, and let us grow our finances! Let us live lives over there worthy of stories that we will tell for the rest of our lives. I pray this in Jesus name!

Amen.
